Our Philosophy:
Equine Synergy is a unique and individualized approach to riding horses. We specialize in teaching beginner riders solid equitation skills that allow our students the ability to ride a variety of horses in a variety of disciplines.
Our Philosophy is based on the best practices of Classical Dressage. We also teach our riders how to understand and speak the horses language. We know that riding is more than sitting on a horse, its about communicating effectively with your body and mind. Our program is focused on developing a relationship with the horse and a strong foundation of knowledge.
Lydia believes strongly in spending the extra time to teach all the basics and in creating new horsemen and horsewomen every day.
Equine-Synergy strives to help every rider with their goals. Whether your goal is to learn basic horsemanship skills, fine tune your skill set for showing, or own your own horse. We work with you to define and achieve your goals. We will never require to you show and we feel that all riders should have the ability to decide how long they should take lessons.
The Instructor: Lydia Bagley has been riding and showing horses for 22 years and has been an instructor for 10 years. Lydia began showing in 4-H and Pony Club events at age
5. She moved rapidly to pony hunters and as teen began showing Morgan horses. Through Morgan's Lydia learned to ride and show Western Pleasure, English Pleasure and learned to drive both pleasure horses and carriage horses. It was a Morgan who introduced Lydia to Dressage and with him she trained to second level. Lydia decided to continue her education in Dressage and purchased a classically trained 1/2 Arabian who would spend the next 6 years teaching her the art of riding and training classically. While in high school Lydia also participated in 4-H Horse Judging at the State and National level.
In college Lydia studied Animal Science at Texas A&M University earning a Bachelors degree in Animal Science Production with an Emphasis in Equine Studies. While a student at A&M she participated in the Texas 4-H Horsemanship Program as an Instructor to 4-H'ers across North Texas, teaching basic to advanced skills in 2 and 3 day clinics.
After college Lydia became a certified Texas science teacher and adjunct professor of Equine Studies at Southern Nazarene University, developing their first Basic Care and Training class including a weanling halter breaking, showmanship, and behaviors lab.
Today she focuses teaching industry best practices and helping students become their very best. She loves being there for the "AHH" moments when it all comes together.
